Central Bedfordshire Council Local Plan
The Central Bedfordshire Local Plan was adopted in July 2021. The Plan sets out a vision for how the area will develop in the future up to 2035 and considers future needs and opportunities in relation to infrastructure, homes, jobs and businesses, community facilities and the environment. It also sets out the principles that will guide future development, including employment land.
The Local Plan ensures that your business, its employees and their families get the business premises and homes needed plus all the services, facilities and amenities that great communities are built on, while protecting and enhancing what you love about operating a business, working and living in the area.
Our Local Plan ensures that growth in the area:
- is sustainable;
- is delivered in the right place;
- respects and reflects the character of Central Bedfordshire; and
- is developed alongside economic opportunities as well as the right supporting roads, schools, services, retail, leisure and community facilities.
The adopted Local Plan can be viewed on the Planning Policy pages on our website.
