This national webinar will examine the key issues affecting all businesses and consumers 111 days after the transition and will consider the Government support needed to ease the burden on those who do business overseas.

Event details

If you are a business who imports and exports to the EU, the chances are you will have already seen a change as a result of Brexit. A recent FSB survey found that one in five (23%) exporters have temporarily halted sales to the European Union (EU) customers and a further 4% have already decided to stop selling into the bloc permanently after new trading rules took affect at the start of this year.

One in ten (11%) exporters are considering halting sales to Europe permanently and the same proportion have established, or are considering establishing, a presence within an EU country to ease their exporting processes.

Our panel of influential politicians and entrepreneurs will take your questions, comments and suggestions covering key areas such as customs declarations, unfamiliar paperwork, new VAT obligations and access to markets outside the EU. The panel will also answer your questions on the Brexit Support fund and will look at the role the transition has played on the education sector and workforce. Could the country be facing a skills shortage?

Hosted by FSB East of England Regional Chair David Bell and Simona Daniel, FSB Development Manager. The panellists will include:

  • Daniel Zeichner - MP for Cambridge
  • James Sibley – FSB’s Head of International Affairs, Policy and Public Affairs
  • Darren Ryan – Director, Morrison Freight
  • Dr David Arkell – Director of Business Development at Anglia Ruskin University

All businesses are invited to attend. Even if you do not import or export goods, as Brexit affects all businesses, this webinar is for you. You will be invited to submit a question for the event as part of the registration process.
