People & Process: Managing your business well
What will we cover?
We start by thinking about people, reclaiming the reputation of performance management from the misconception that it only happens when things are going wrong. Nothing should be further from the truth.
Having discussed what performance management should be and why it is important we will look at some models to help you do it properly:
– the performance pyramid
– applying ‘SMART’ principles at each level of the performance pyramid
– the performance curve and how to avoid burnout
– twelve key management questions.
The course then moves on to exploring the fundamentals of the procurement cycle and why each phase contributes to the supply chain function and effective cost management.
The group then moves on to consider the best way to develop tender documents, alongside the need for supplier and post-tender appraisals.
We also explore the difference between performance and supplier relationship management, before identifying tools to help in your day-to-day role.
We then look briefly at legal requirements and due diligence
The session also explores different types of supply chain, before explaining how to strengthen your relationships with suppliers and manage your procurement network.
