What can my business do to lessen its environmental impact?
Workshop – a presentation, lunch and networking event focusing on how local businesses can respond to growing environmental and social challenges without compromising business growth.
There is little denial around the world now that the climate emergency is the biggest global threat to people and wildlife: there is no Planet B. Earlier this month global leaders met at COP26 in Glasgow to discuss how to safeguard our future, stating their net zero pledges for 2050, 2060 and 2070 – but how can we as individuals and businesses take action now to fight the global climate crisis?
Join us at our event, and following an introduction and brief history of the Forest of Marston Vale we’ll:
- hear how a local plastics manufacturer achieved net zero, whilst growing their business and remaining competitive in a global market;
- have the chance to think about our own carbon footprint, as individuals and a business community;
- learn about local solutions for your business which will deliver your CSR objective, environmental goals and help combat the escalating climate emergency;
- hear about the Forest of Marston Vale’s new ‘Act local, save global’ campaign;
- enjoy a light lunch and networking with other local business owners and representatives.
There will also be a special address from the HM Lord-Lieutenant of Bedfordshire talking about the national importance of climate action and upcoming tree planting projects in honour of Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
Please join us on Thursday 2nd December from 11.30am – 2pm – places are free but space is limited, so booking your place is essential.
In the words of David Attenborough, together let’s start to ‘rewrite our story’ on climate action.
