Future Luton - Making best use of our runway

London Luton Airport has been one of the UK’s fastest growing airports over the last eight years. It is expected to reach the limits of its existing planning approval to handle 18 million passengers per annum (mppa) by the end of 2020.
The proposal is to build a new second terminal to the north of the runway to allow the airport to expand. This would enable them to increase the annual capacity of the airport over time by a further 14 million passengers.
They are consulting and asking for your feedback on their expansion plans to make best use of the runway at London Luton Airport.
They recognise that their proposals would bring impacts, for the environment and people who live and work nearby. They are committed to minimising and mitigating these impacts and are setting out measures to tackle them, including for noise, climate change, air quality and transport.
The consultations begin on Wednesday 16th October and end on Monday 16th December.
Their proposed development for achieving phased airport growth to 2039 will be displayed at a series of consultation events in your area. At the events you will have an opportunity to view the proposals, speak to members of the expert project team, and provide your feedback.
