HSE guidance on how to protect seasonal and temporary workers
11/04/2025

Workers are as likely to experience an accident in the first six months at a workplace as they are over the rest of their working life. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has guidance on six ways to protect those who are new to the job.
HSE also has advice to help users and suppliers of agency and temporary workers understand their health and safety responsibilities.
The law safeguards agency and temporary worker’s health and safety and employment businesses (agencies) must ensure they follow health and safety requirements for every agency or temporary worker.
The Central Bedfordshire Council website provides further information regarding health and safety at work.
