Largest National Low Carbon Vehicle Event takes place in Central Bedfordshire
Cenex - the UK’s first Centre of Excellence for low carbon and fuel cell technologies and the organiser of the UK’s largest technology showcasing and networking event for the UK low carbon vehicle community will be hosting its annual national low carbon vehicle event, Cenex-LCV2016, in Millbrook, Central Bedfordshire on 14th – 15th September 2016.
The event is set to attract over 2,800 delegates, and comprises of a comprehensive seminar programme, a technology exhibition with broad B2B focus, a Ride & Drive in a test track environment and networking activities.
Highlights of the two-day event include: Keynote presentations by Ian Constance, APC; Dr. Stephen Neugebauer, BMW Group and Simon Edmonds, Innovate UK; which will set the context for what’s driving the UK’s response to the opportunities associated with the motor industry transition to low carbon vehicles.
Roland Meister from Innovate UK will chair a session on Connected and Autonomous Vehicles, focussing on developments in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAV). Steve Yianni of the Transport Systems Catapult will address its impact on UK activities whilst Michael Talbot from the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV) will discuss the pathway to driverless cars in the UK. This will be followed by industry presentations from Simon Brewerton of RDM Group and Chris Reeves of HORIBA MIRA.
A session on The Automotive Council and UK Capabilities Development which will provide updates on the work of the Automotive Council Technology Groups, including presentations on energy storage, Virtual Product Engineering and new road-mapping for Intelligent Automated Vehicles. Speakers in the session include Graham Hoare and David Skipp from Ford Motor Company, Alex Burns CEO of Millbrook and Neville Jackson, Ricardo.
The Automotive Electronic Systems Innovation Network (AESIN) will bring together an engaging showcase of electronics companies with new developments in propulsion technologies and intelligent transport systems.
