Powering Bedfordshire! A call out for volunteers

Powering Bedfordshire! is a fun interactive workshop at the University of Bedfordshire Bedford campus which sees local year 7 & 8 students take on the role of a new social enterprise company for the day. They will have the opportunity to work in teams to develop a new product idea to tackle a social issue of their choice and to then “pitch” their product.
The programme is looking for volunteers from local organisations and businesses to support young people on the day. As a volunteer you would be:
- Sharing insights into your industry
- Acting as a role model
- Providing insight into the world of work and sharing your own career journey
- Highlighting the diversity of the opportunities in the local area, or in your industry
- Supporting the students through their tasks and activities
- Answer any queries relating to your experiences in the industry, or general employment-related questions
In the words of a past TTF Programme Volunteer, “I'm immensely proud of the work of project and grateful to my employer for supporting me to attend. Volunteering at the project has left me feeling, proud, more energised, and hopeful for the future.”
Volunteers do not need to prepare anything, a full briefing will be given beforehand.
Dates available (9am - 3pm): 19/5, 20/5, 21/5, 22/5, 23/5.
