Tomorrow’s workforce meeting Central Bedfordshire businesses at the National Apprenticeship Show
Key employers from our local area were out in force at the national apprenticeship show at the Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes this week. Staff from Central Bedfordshire Council joined SEMLEP on their stand to promote the council’s own apprenticeship recruitment. Local companies such as Kier, Superdrug, Amazon, Nissan, Millbrook, MDBA and Grand Union Housing were among the 100 exhibitors present at the show and keen to meet with the crowds of high/upper school children and young adults flocking to the show to learn more about these employers’ apprenticeship programmes.
The afternoon session saw queues of eager young adults waiting to get into the show and learn more about the range of apprenticeship programmes available to them. These included apprenticeships from intermediate level (level 2) up to higher degree level (level 6 & 7) for those who may wish to consider an alternative to higher education.
The show brings together employers, colleges and providers with those wanting to find out more about what apprenticeships can offer. It provides an opportunity for both candidates and employers to explore the benefits of apprenticeships and how their compare to other education and employment options.
